Oops! Better late than never right! Without further ado, our belated February Geo-Discovery….
At the intersection of the New England Highway and Thunderbolt Way, youβll find the small historic town of Uralla. Many know this to be the last resting place of the infamous bushranger Captain Thunderbolt, legendary for being the longest roaming of his kind and for his escape from one of Sydneyβs geo-meccas – Cockatoo Island! Additionally, the town and surrounding region is also well known for its rich goldrush history. In geocaching circles however, Uralla is synonymous with some standout caches courtesy of local caching team geono.
Nestled in the New England region, between Tamworth and Armidale, Uralla is a 5 and a half hour drive north east of Sydney via the New England Highway. However those willing to make the journey will be rewarded with a treasure trove of quality, hand crafted and unique gadget caches!
